Android Central Question

Morning, Need some assistance and I'm hoping I can explain it in the best possible way for you to understand what I mean.
Basically I have purchased some Lenovo Tab3 tablets which will be used with Motorola Symbol bluetooth scanners which will scan barcodes for picking purposes (Business related), basically when the scanner is connected via bluetooth I dont need to keyboard to pop up everytime the next screen focuses in on a text box - however I cannot turn the keyboard option off as I need it occasionally for the use of entering in user credentials to login. Slightly frustrating and I'm unsure if that can be done on Android, as I was able to resolve this using Windows based HP tablets previously, does anyone have any suggestions at all?
Thanks in advance
Emma

Welcome to Android Central! What if you connect a Bluetooth keyboard at the same time? Not sure if that will make it too unwieldy, but I think with a Bluetooth keyboard connected, the onscreen keyboard won't show up.
