Can't see all emojis on Samsung s6

My friend has the same phone as mine and when he sends me some emojis I get the blank boxes with X. I have checked and I am on the latest software. What do I need to do? Thanks!

Emojis are usually produced by the keyboard app. Is he using a different one than you are? (If he sends you an emoji that your keyboard doesn't have, it has only one choice - to show you that "blank" picture.) If you see some of them but not all of them, it's not an MMS issue or a settings issue with your text app. (If you're not seeing any of them, it could be either of the last 2 things.)
