When I move photos from the Gallery to my SD card, they still show up in the Gallery. (I know.... the photos are not really being "moved from the Gallery", they are being moved from "Internal Storage" to "SD Card".) I want the photos on the SD card to NOT show in my Gallery.

I thought I had it figured out when I discovered Device Folders on the main menu. Nope. They show up in the Gallery.

I have done due diligence searching for an answer to no avail.

Welcome to Android Central! Use a file manager app to add a blank file titled .nomedia (include the leading period). That will cause the system to ignore that directory when populating the gallery database.

"Gallery" is not a location, it is a picture viewing app. Thus it will show you your pictures in any and all folders they are in.

If you want your picture viewing app to not show you pictures that are in certain folders, add the ".nomedia" file to those folders as Diddy suggests above.
