problems with note 5 after switching from verizon to metro pcs

having issues making and receiving calls as well as sending and receiving text since switching, i know that verizon runs on cdma and metro runs on gsm. i was wondering if there is a way to change the firmware from 920v (verizon firmware to metro firmware)? would this solve the issue? any recommendations for fixing the issue?

Welcome to Android Central! It's usually not a good idea to flash a different variant's firmware, because that can introduce incompatibility as well.

If you go to Settings>Mobile Networks>Network Operators, is MetroPCS selected?
