Android Central Question

Hi, does anyone know how to get rid if the flashing screen I see when someone calls? I'm unable to answer and I get an advert at the end. I have a screenshot if that's helpful. It's not the usual call notification and just started after a recent update. I've searched all my settings and cannot find anything to turn off. It's driving me mad ! thanks

The normal way is to press Power as if to power off, then long-press the 'Power Off?' message box that appears. The option will then appear. It's normal for things to look different on the phone when in Safe Mode.

The purpose of Safe Mode is to disable third-party apps diagnostically, to see whether they are causing trouble. Rebooting is the normal method of leaving Safe Mode when you've done with it.

Also, welcome as a new member. :)

Hi,

thanks :-)

Yes it works as normal without the flashing lights in Safe mode so I presume it's an app?
I've been through everything on the phone and can't find where it's coming from. Also turned off al notifications etc.

The only reference I can find to anything like it is a youtube clip on how to get it (why anyone would is beyond me.. ;-).. )

Could it be embedded in some adware or something?

Thanks for you help!! :-)

Hi,

Thanks.

I've fixed it - after trying it in Safe Mode (which worked a treat) I removed my flashlight app.

Fixed!

Thanks every so much for your help :-)

I just purchased a new phone Infinix zero 5. And I am facing a big problem with this phone. When screen is off, I am not able to see incoming calls. After opening the phone screen it shows me about miscall. Help me if anybody know the solution.

I have the same problem. Don't know where it has come from and cannot get rid of it either. Apart from the disco flashing lights, I cannot answer calls and there is a photo of what looks like a hooker in the screen. How can I get rid of this nonsense?

More than likely it is caused by an app u recently installed thats why sometimes in safe mode it doesnt show up..only because it doesnt allow widgets from apps to work

The phone i have recently fixed, there was a flashlight app causing this ( wich is weird because most android phones come with a pre installed flashlight app) that doesnt mean thats the one causing this on your phone, but could be something similar..

If you dont remember the recent apps uintalled that may be causing this u can try going to play store and under the installed apps section.. unistalling every app u dont use
or try going to the setting under the battery usage section and see whats using up your batteries... Also Some app killers list whats running as well so try killing everythong then calling you phone and see what pops bakk up up on the usage list

Either way good luck and sorry for the long story..i will return and see if all was resolved

I found answer to the problem with Flashlight app. When you open it, it appears to offer an invitation to consider install flashing screen notifications, but if you click ok, it as if you accepted and activated it.

You have uninstall the flashlight app to get rid of the flashig sceen notification.

Guess we can't add screen Screenshot_20180226-140749.jpgScreenshot_20180226-140731.jpgshot

You guys are awesome! Thanks for the great answer. My friend had been trying to disable this from his phone for weeks, not having realized that the Note 8 had a flashlight. Whew. We uninstalled the app, and all is well now. Thanks again everyone!

Go into your apps and find EMOJI KEYBOARD and uninstall it ,and straight away it removes those DISCO LIGHTS plus this app is using a lot of data on your phone it took me 3 weeks to find the answer.
