Forgotten my password to unlock phone for android pay

[Android Central Question]

Put android pay into my moto 3g phone and had to set up a password to lock my phone --- I've now forgotten the password !! HELP !!

Welcome to Android Central! You have to remember this kind of important information -- especially since it's used to protect your money. If you fail the unlock enough times, does it prompt you to enter your Google account and password? If not then you'll have to do a hardware key factory reset (which, of course, will wipe your data as well -- hopefully you were backing it up or syncing it regularly). Which generation is your Moto G? Or are you saying it's a Moto G3 (i.e., 3rd gen)?
