Why is my screen with a gray background and points of colors?

i can't see anything in the screen but it stil working, the touch its okay but the screen is totaly gray with points, everything is working but no the screen.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Does this persist after a reboot, or in Safe Mode? If so, then the screen has failed -- contact the manufacturer, if it's still under warranty. Otherwise, bring it to a local repair shop.
