Android Central Question

Hi all,

I'm currently looking for some advice on swapping my S8 to a PXL2 as the title suggests.

The main reason for my change is, I've had plenty of Nexus devices in the past, I love the rapid updates, I love vanilla and since owning my S8 I think I've had one software patch for security. I do appreciate Touchwiz is heavily modified and requires more work, but c'mon I want Oreo!

I did own the OG pixel XL and loved it to bits quite literally!

I also can't beta test on my S8 as it's o2 carrier branded (annoyingly) I'm also a bit tired of it's abysmal battery life. My pixel would go 2 days of heavy use.

I know the XL2 isn't perfect, but watching a few videos the screen looks more natural to me, the blueshift isn't a deal breaker at all either. I was wondering if someone could give me some advice on this, whether it's the correct thing to do. I'll also be using a google home mini and fossil q Marshal watch as of this upcoming Friday, thanks in advance. Rich :)

Welcome to Android Central! My 2 XL is excellent. The screen is a nonissue for me -- colors look normal, no graininess, no burn-in, and the blue tint when viewing at an angle is not drastic (and I don't view my phone at an angle). Performance is awesome and the camera is amazing. The fact that Google stands fully behind it (and extended the warranty to 2 years) gives me peace of mind.
