Android Central Question

I don't want the Apps icon on my quick access bar. The manual says just long press and drag it to the home screen. However, every time I do that, it just goes right back onto the quick access bar. I have looked at many of the home screens that people have posted here and there are several of them that don't have that icon there.

Can anyone tell me how to remove it from the quick access bar and put it on my desktop instead?

I asked this question about an hour ago and received an answer that asked a question and I can't figure out how to respond to the answer?????

Anyways, the question was what kind of phone do you have and it is an LG V20.

And, can someone tell me how to respond to an answered question????

The apps icon may need to be a persistent icon. If you "lose" it somehow you won't be able to get to your full apps list.
