So the Dash-charge coming with OnePlus' most recent smartphones works by transferring the power with high currency (4 amps). Is that bad for the battery health in OnePlus' phones? Does it have any effect on the battery health? Is it better to go with a OnePlus phone compared to a Galaxy s8 (where the fast charging works with high voltage) when thinking about how long the battery will last?

Would you like me to move this to one of the OnePlus forums? If so, which?

Are you measuring the 4 Amps at the battery terminals, or are you just reading it on the charger label? The 5T has a battery capacity of 3.3 Ah, so the maximum charging rate should be 3,3 Amps (but it's usually much lower, even with a 4 Amp charger).

As for high current charging vs. high voltage charging, to get higher current, you increase the voltage, so both of them charge at higher current due to higher voltage.

And normally, the faster charging only works up to about 50%. Since you should never allow the battery to drop down past 40% (lithium batteries are not deep-discharge batteries), the fast charge is only working for 10% of the charge time - in either phone.
