How did you fix your "com.sec.epdg has stopped" error?

[Android Central Question]

I tried to change my sim during travel and started getting the error "com.sec.epdg has stopped" I cant do anything else. Multiple restarts, nothing. Tried the regular sim and same issue.

Is wipeout/factory reset the only option? or it doesnt work either?

Any suggestions and thoughts?

{S8} How did you fix your "com.sec.epdg has stopped" error?

Samsung S8 started displaying the following message "com.sec.epdg has stopped" with close this app option.

1. Tried to add my new local sim due to travel.
2. Phone restarted
3. Started displaying "com.sec.epdg has stopped" message with close option
4. Sync skills helped me restart the device few times with closing the error.
5. Factory reset the final option?
6. Common issue with samsung S8 phones and no real solution

Unfortunately, the only solution I've been able to find on the web is a factory reset. Some people had to get the phone replaced.

then show system apps

then scroll down till you found com.sec.epdg

then clear the data and you will found that it is solved

Clear wifi setting

I have this issue before.
Problem that i faced:

1. Connect to Hotel wifi with captive portal. My phone will keep restarting. Fingerprint unable to unlock .
2. I fly my drone using DJI Go App 4, wifi connect to RC, my phone also keep restarting. Safely the drone just keep hovering and stay at the same place. I need to restart my phone multiple times befire able to see the drone.


What is do is just clear wifi setting. Problem solved.

vampi465 Thank you! That solved my problem! It was a pain in the butt to get to that option with that Pop-up on the way (no jk took me arround 10 minutes) but it worked! So Thank you so much you are awesome!

I just wanted to confirm this method worked for me.

I found that doing both of the following fixed it for me. (Samsung SM-J727V )

1) clear data & cache for com.sec.epdg as others said,

2) set most of my "remembered" WiFi connections to "Forget", thus clearing most of the cache there.

Side note: booting in SafeMode allowed me to operate my phone without all those "stopped" popups.

Aceasta eroare mi-a aprut dupa ce am incercat sa pun o versiune curata de android pe s6,am rezolvat problema!!
1.M-am conectat la wi-fi dupa multe incercari sa inchid eroarea
2.Update android
3.Solved
