The phone is almost non-responsive to touch, even the start button doesn't always get the screen on. then, once it's on, the reaction is delayed. some apps don't work at all, like Audible - don't hear the sound. Calls don't come through, and when I make one, people can't hear me or I can't hear them. It is awful! Somebody help me get rid of this !@#$%^&* please!
Have you done a system cache wipe?
If you have, you'll just have to factory reset the phone. It won't remove the update but it will clear up any conflicting files and codes. This is actually recommended for any major update.
Also, in such a scenario, it is not ideal to restore any settings. So just backup files and messages that you need, and set the cloud backup for any apps that have them. You'll lose everything else though.

How would I do a system cashe wipe? I certainly haven't tried that yet.
It would depend on the exact phone model. I don't know the exact method for BB, but you'll have to use a specific button combination for it.
