I'm wondering how many bands T-Mobile uses in the US, and if a new phone I'm considering has to hit all of them in the specs.

I'm thinking of the Elephone S8 or Huawei - Mate 9.

    Thanks for your help!

Welcome to Android Central! Here are T-Mobile's bands: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-4988. Band 4 is the most commonly used LTE band.

There has to be some overlap for the phone to work. If it only hits some of the bands, then it may depend on where you are in the US, since certain bands might not be available (or they might not be strong) in a given area.
