I have a Motorola Turbo phone with Verizon service.

I have always been able to connect my phone to my desktop, go to file folders, select DCIM folder, open pictures and then select them to transfer to my desktop.

Suddenly, it no longer works. I can open the DCIM folder and within are these folders

    100MEDIA
    realtimes
    verizonsavednomediafile

    These folders are all empty

I can still open gallery, view the camera roll and the other albums in gallery but cannot access them via the desktop.

Any help is much appreciated. It's a real pain having to transfer pictures by email!

Welcome to Android Central! When you connect via USB, swipe down the notification panel and tap the USB icon. Is MTP selected?

Yes, I am using MTP and it allows me to view all the folders but there are no pictures in the DCIM folder????

When I view the Gallery on my phone, they are there. In the past I've always moved pics to the desktop by going to DCIM but now they are not there

Odd. Use a file manager app on the phone and look at the /DCIM directory -- where do you see your photo files? Are they in the /DCIM/100Media directory? Most phones save photos to the /DCIM/Camera directory, but you're saying that isn't present?
