Android Central Question

On my Samsung Galaxy S4 I can receive emails, create and send new emails, but I can't reply or forward any emails. I get the following - "loading messages." It cycles continuously. I've tried the following: deleted cached data for all apps; deleted and then added back my email account. No help. Same problem occurs whether I'm home or at work.

Thoughts/suggestions?

Thanks,

Gary

Have exactly the same problem, also on Galaxy S4, started happening at lunchtime today as well.

Anyone no what has changed or how to rectify it?

Also noticed, if you hit the back Key, the loading messages vanishes, and it seems to allow you to type, but the text does not appear on the screen.

Had this problem today and found the answer on another forum- totally solved my issue. It's a December 5th update to your Android System Web Viewer. Go into settings- app manager- Android System Web Viewer, and depending on your phone, either uninstall updates, or if that option isn't available, disable the app. Restart your phone, and everthing works like it should again. Just make sure you have auto updates turned off or it will happen again. I assume they'll have a fix sometime soon, at which point we can maybe update it without worrying?

Same trouble with a Note 4. Disabled the Web View, and, fyi, for those of you unsure, it asks you if you want to restore to the factory default. Say yes to that, and all works thereafter. It wasn't even necessary to reboot the phone. Once WebView had reverted to the original version, all was good.

When you attempt to discard you receive an option to "Save to Drafts."
Place in Drafts, go back later and the email should have downloaded by then.
Then I am able to reply and send.
I realize this is only an option in the interim.

This will unlock your keyboard and you'll be able to type again for the time being. After you dismiss "Loading messages" pop up, you're unable to type. So check out your notifications and you'll see "Select keyboard". In my case I have:

  • Google voice typing
  • Samsung keyboard

I can see "Samsung keyboard" is selected. So just select Google and then Samsung again. After that, you can type again and answer the message right there.:-X
