Android Central Question

Since my phone auto-updated the other night, I now have a grey box permanently on my screen saying "enable the storage permission in the app settings for com.android.email". When I go into app management - I can find no such app (checking all, installed, running, cached - nothing there with this name.)

This overlay is prohibiting me from using my phone - not only obscurring the keyboard, but every app is asking me to enable such and such permissions, and when I try to do so it says nuh-uh! You've got a screen overlay on - go turn that off. Ooops, you can't? Well **** off then.

My phone is running android 6.0.1

I'm totally stuck with this.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Look in the Settings>Apps menu for the stock Email app -- that's what "com.android.email" would be referring to. You may have to tap Menu>Show System first.
