Android Central Question

I own a Galaxy S8+ and just recently bought the Tab A 10.1 and the Tab E 9.7 for my daughter's. My question has to do with the Android versions they are running. Why are the more "top of the line" s8+ and Tab A running 7.0 while the more economy Tab E is running 7.1.1?

Welcome to Android Central! It likely has to do with the update cycle. The Tab E was released in 2015, and recently got 7.1.1 around September, which is most likely the last version upgrade it will get. The S8+ was initially released with 7.0, and my understanding is that Samsung decided to skip 7.1.1 and go straight to 8.0 (which is currently in the last stages of beta testing).
