Every time I try to open the play store app it gives me the message that the play app has stopped.

As of today every time I try to open the play store app it just says that the app has stopped and below that it says to restart the app but nothing works. I've tried cleaning my memory and restarting my phone but to no avail.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? What do you mean by cleaning your memory?

Go to Settings>Apps, select the Play Store, then Storage, then Clear Cache/Clear Data. Now try opening it again.
