Android Central Question

I did a factory reset on my phone yesterday, and while painstakingly reinstalling everything, I turned on voice assistance, mistaking it for voice recognition. Since then I cannot access the phone. I have learned that I should enter each number on the lockscreen 3 times, but when I do that, OK is still greyed out, and OK does not respond. I can only reach the quick settings, but cannot activate any. It's Christmas, and Samsung's advice was to take it to Best Buy, which, of course, is closed. Alternatively, they suggest doing another factor reset (that was their answer to my phone being hijacked by ads yesterday after a TMobile update).
I've read everything I could find, and the best advice is to enter numbers several times.

The volume key is locked and sound is muted to vibrate.
Pressing power + voice up does nothing.
Power + voice down will re-start the phone.

I cannot turn it off.

If I touch it, it tells me the time and starts giving me instructions.

Can anybody offer anything else? Being totally phone-less is pretty difficult.
