How do you best separate photos so they don't appear in your gallery?

Hi guys, I dont know if this is possible to do but its driving me insane.

How do I move a picture out of the "Pictures" section of my gallery so that I will only ever see it if I go into the "Albums" section.

The reason I ask is that I would like to sort out lots of holiday photos and pictures of the ex for example and put them somewhere else, but I don't want to just delete them or have to hide them in some secure vault.

Anyone know a way to do this? Going onto my computer and making a folder and moving them over still keeps them in the actual gallery pictures which is really irritating because I cant sort things out.

Really appreciate any advice. I am sure I'm not the first person who has wanted to do this.

If you keep all your pics in albums, it's easier to access the ones you want, and any you don't want, you don't open the album...
With my S8, you can also hide albums from within the album section. I keep albums that are only of interest to me hidden to save wading through them when I want to shiw someone some pics...
