    Welcome.

Are you saying that you did not flash the custom ROM, and don’t know how to?
    What phone?

If the ROM is for your device, you flashed the room in your custom recovery, flash Google apps for the same OS version you are flashing, and then do a reset. Once all that is done, do a reboot.

Yeah. It shouldn't do anything bad. If you are concerned, use your custom recovery to create a backup of the current ROM you have (known as a Nandroid). Then flash your custom ROM.

Of course if you flash a ROM, you'll lose all your data and downloaded apps, so make sure you back everything up first.
