How to remove the Double-Tap to Unlock in the J1 Mini Prime

According to my mother, she can access calls on the phone just fine without the feature hindering her. But now, she gave the phone to her mother along with a new sim, and now when she started to use it, her mother is experiencing the feature. How is that possible? It might be disabled if my mother's claims are true. I hope to find some clarification please.
