I have a Samsung S4 mini. Since first buying it I thought it was slow to charge and it would only charge the battery to 80%. I bought a new Samsung charger and changed power points but it made no difference. I used the phone as it was until a week ago when I decided to buy a new genuine identical battery (manufacture date 2017) to see if it would charge quicker and to 100%. When I tried to charge it nothing happened except that the phone vibrates every two seconds. The screen is black and the battery charging icon does not show when the button is pressed. It does not appear to be charging the new battery at all. I put my old battery back in and the phone turns on and works perfectly. Does anyone know what is happening? Why it vibrates every two seconds? Is the new battery at fault? Thanks.

Welcome to Android Central! It sounds like a defective battery. Ask the seller for a refund or exchange, and see if you have more success with another new battery.
