Android Central Question

Steps:
(1) connected google pixel phone to PC (running windows 7).
(2) switched phone to USB type: File Transfer
(3) Opened phone on PC
(4) navigated to music directory, added 2 albums. These have a simple <album name> sub directory populated by .mp3 files
(5) open Google Play Music on Google Pixel
(6) 1 album is displayed, the other is absent.

What is going on with this backwards device? How is this supposed to work?

Welcome to Android Central! On the Google Play Music app tap Menu and turn on the Downloaded Only switch. It still doesn't show up?

Using a file manager app, look in the directory for that album that isn't showing up. Is there a file called ".nomedia" in that directory? If you're looking with Windows Explorer, make sure Show Hidden File/Folders is turned on.
