I'm using a Zenfone 3 Max, whenever you start the phone, you will be required to enter your PIN digits (which is very good) before you are given full access to the phone. However, after I entered the digits, the phone will proceed to my access 'unlocked' (lockscreen not activated). It is a little dangerous if you leave the phone while waiting for Asus to startup, other people can access your features because lockscreen doesn't come up. Is there any button to trigger the lockscreen after startup?

Not during startup, but if you look in Settings/Lock screen you'll see that you can set the lock screen to come up when you press the power button (which normally only turns the screen off). So wait until the phone has started, use it, press the power button and it's locked.
