Broken LCD or Digitizer?

I have a galaxy s6 edge with a broken front screen. Touch still works I see everything fine its just cracks on the screen. Getting someone to do it cost 250+ and I dont want to pay that. I just want to know if its the Digitizer or just the lcd that I need replacing. I have heard some people say its just the lcd and others the digitizer. I would just like to know what I need replaced so I can try to save up to start the repair. THANKS!

For the 250 you could get a S7

Whether it's just the display or the digitizer, the issue is AFAIK you can only get them as one unit glued to each other, so you'll end up replacing both anyway.

first take the screen, then get the digitizer.

You can get the digitizer separately, but if you haven't replaced at least a few of them successfully already, I'd strongly recommend against even trying it - you'd probably end up with a dead screen, then you'd have to pay $250 to replace it.
