    You don't. On some phones, to flash some things, you have to unlock the bootloader. On other phones, you just use the manufacturer's software tool (which is available all over the internet) to flash something (TWRP can be flashed that way, the firmware can be flashed that way). You'd have to tell us the make and model of the device.

    To use things in the kernel (there's no "opening" it), you'd use an app like Terminal Emulator for Android. But that wouldn't be used for flashing anything.
