Is there a 'new' USB Type C?

[Android Central Question]

I have what looks like a USB Type C charger, but it doesn't fit in my phone. I'm not sure what type of USB it is but it looks exactly like my current charger (bought a year ago) which is Type C so I can't work out why it wont fit.

Are the newer Type C chargers a different shape?

Type C is type C, just like micro is micro and mini is mini USB. If the cable isn't fitting, it's either not a type C or something is defective and blocking proper connection.

If you sign up for a free account here, could you post a pic of the cable plug see we can make sure it's correct?


EDIT: I should clarify there are different USB protocols depending on the internal design of the cable. As far as the plug itself, there is only one physical design of usb C, and it should fit any usb C port.

Thanks for the response. I'm OP. Sorry,I wasn't logged in earlier. These are the pictures. The black one should be Type-C. Not sure for the white one as too me, it looks exactly the same.

I think you're right. It looks indented on the long edge on the right, which very well could prevent it from plugging in.

Thanks all. Yeah, I think it's probably bent or just dodgy. It was a freebie so can't expect quality.
