why has my contacts been updating for 4hrs

My texts dont have any names, everytime i go onto fone log it switches off

A few things you can try.

1) On a computer, go to contacts.google.com - make sure all of your contacts are listed properly
2) Restart your phone - this will help clear up any cached data that may be messing up your sync
3) In the phone settings, find "accounts" and tap on your Google account. Look for the list of items to sync, and turn off "contacts". Restart your phone. Go back into settings and turn on "sync contacts".
