Android Central Question

Hello,

I have a Xiaomi Mi A1 with Android Oreo (8.0).
I don't think my problem is linked to the phone model.

I use Android Messages app.

Sometimes , when I take a picture from the embedded camera, the size of the photo exceeds my limit (600kB for my carrier).
Sometimes it works, but most of the time it fails.
Size is exceeded by a few kB.

When I import a photo from my gallery. No problem, compression is well done.

I tried to clear the cache of Android Messages and camera apps without success.

There is no setting for the MMS size in Android Messages.
If I well understood, Android detects the max size from the carrier.
I don't exactly know how Android do that.

I see two possibilities:
- Compression algorithm fails to compress correctly photos
- Detected max size is wrong

Whatever, I don't find any working solution.

MMS is a very basic feature for a smartphone, but it fails....

If you have any idea!!!
