Android Central Question

I have a Nokia 8, which had been working fine until last night when I charged it with a non-Nokia cable. Even since, I have been stuck on this one screen where the only things show are "download mode"on the upper left corner and "powered by android" in the middle of the screen.
I tried rebooting it by holding the power button many times. It does reboot, but every time I come back to the same screen.
I also tried holding both the power button and the volume-up and/or volume-down buttons at the same time, but it does not do anything differently from holding only the power button.
Btw, I don't think draining the battery will help because the phone was completely out of battery before I charged it last night, and it started happening once I started charging it.

Sorry, it's hard for me to test this out since I don't have that phone. But did you already try the exact steps described in that link?

If it's stuck in download mode, but there's nothing wrong with it otherwise, holding the power button down for 15-30 seconds should cause it to restart. If it still starts in download mode, make sure the Volume- button isn't stuck in. (If it is, try pulling it out using a needle as a lever against the case.) If it's not stuck in, either it's shorted or there's no ROM in the phone, in which case you'll have to flash a ROM. Instructions are here at XDA. (And you no longer have any data on the phone, so I hope you have a backup.)
