I was going to put all my games in a folder and started to, then decided not to. Now there is one game in my folder I can't get out how do I put it back on my home screen

Usually long-pressing on the app should allow you to move it out or delete from the folder, BUT some launchers/phones don't allow for 'empty' folders, so if it's just one app left, it wouldn't let you do that. But you should be able to delete the folder itself by long-pressing on the folder, not the app inside it. To place the app back on the homescreen, just long-press on an empty area and add a shortcut or go to your app drawer, find the app you want to put on your homescreen, long-press it and drag/drop to where you want it on your homescreen.

In most cases, though, tapping the folder, then long-pressing the app, then dragging it to the home screen, will do it. If the folder only has one app in it, the folder disappears, but the app is still on the home screen (not in a folder).
