Why can't I connect my Samsung A3 with pc via USB?

I can see this question being asked before but it was never resolved. I have downloaded photos in the passed, but now when I plug in the USB cable there is no option to copy across the photos. And there is certainly no option to select the MTP (and I've never had to use this before!).

Can the pc "see" the phone? Sometimes you need to tell the pc what you want it to do when connected..
The mtp thing should be in developers options...

If you don't get the option, the phone probably doesn't see a USB connection, so either the cable is bad (try a different one), the port on the PC is bad (try a different one) or the port on the phone is bad or loose (have it replaced).
