Another family member and I are both having this problem. Just recently (perhaps a week ago?) we stopped being able to send attachments, whether picture or file, through the gmail app, because no matter what we send, on the receiving end, it shows as 0b and is not able to be opened. We can, however, still view/download attachments sent by other people. We use the gmail app for Yahoo, and admittedly, recently it asked both of us to sign in again and resync our accounts (it's done this before, once in a while). No settings were changed so far as I know, and yet, now we are having this problem. I'm not sure if it has to do with that event, but it seems a suspicious coincidence. We can still send photos via text absolutely fine.
    Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Welcome to Android Central! Does it help if you completely remove the Yahoo Mail account from the Gmail app, then add it back again?

Try also going to Settings>Apps, select Gmail, and Clear Cache/Clear Data.
