Not receiving text messages from I-phone users, i have a Samsung galaxy

I have a Samsung and I have several friends who have Iphones. From time to time I do not receive their texts. They are people I am close to so we clearly know we missed a text. They can resend it and it will come through. There seems so rhyme or reason to this.

maybe im wrong but... something like it happened to me when i switch from iphone to android and have to do with your phone number acc registered to the imessage service, but if you have time using android maybe this doesnt apply to your issue
