    I have seen several other posts and have tried clearing memory and cache and forcing stop on both Google Play Store and Google Play Services and then restarted but problem does not go away.

    Welcome to Android Central! Is this only when you're trying to install apps, or does the Play Store app crash randomly even when you're not installing anything?

    Thanks for the reply.

    It is random. I get a message box appearing every little while saying "Google Play Store has stopped" and then giving me an option to "Close App"

    Same behavior in Safe Mode.

    When you say you cleared memory and cache, do you mean that you wiped the system cache partition? https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-28352

    The system cache partition has now been wiped. Still getting same issue.

    Message often appears when changing window to a different app.

    I went to Disable the Google Play Store app and was presented the option to do a factory reload of the app. That seems to have worked.

    Does that mean you re-enabled it so that you could still use it? It suggests that something with the latest update to the Play Store app was causing problems, and reverting to the factory-installed Play Store version got rid of it. The problem is that the Play Store app should still automatically update, so the same problem might recur once that happens.

    Yes it is re-enabled so it can be used.

    Thanks for the thought about auto update. I will keep that in mind if the problem recurs.
