I have an old alba phone as a backup. And I have forgotten my password. However when I try to factory reset it, it just turns on like normal. There is no way to bring up the reset menu. The phone can go into safe mode but nothing else. Its nothing bad if I can't, but it would help if there was some way

    Thank you

If there's no factory reset in Settings, you can't reset it.

And if there is, you still need your Google password to reset it (that's part of Google's Factory Reset Protection). You wouldn't want someone to be able to steal your phone, just reset it and make it theirs, would you?

Welcome to Android Central! What's the exact model name/number? You could try the steps here for an Alba tablet How do you reset an Alba tablet when you have forgotten the password - VisiHow. But as Rukbat mentioned, you'll still have to remember your Google password (which, if you use any Google services or devices at all, is something you should never forget).
