Hello, I have a z971 zte blade spark, running Android 7.1.1
I am trying to connect my phone to my guitar amp ( a vox valvetronix ) via USB midi in the form of an otg cable connected to a USB cable connected to the guitar amp. The idea is the phone can control the amp through an app. However when I run the app while connected to the amp it reports that my device does not support USB midi, my question is how, if possible can I change that.

More info, Google leads me to an article telling me that starting in marshmallow USB midi is supported, and to enable it just select midi when you plug the cable in. When I plug into a PC I do not have a midi option, just charge, file transfer, and photo video transfer. Also, when I plug the phone into the amp it doesn't bring any options up, I have tried different otg cables and different USB (from otg to amp) cables

You need to enable it in Developer Options. Watch this video for about 45 seconds, then go into Developer Options and change the USB port from "Charging" to MIDI.

Just got that phone myself...hope this helps.
