Deleting Text Messages

[Android Central Question]

If I was in Airplane Mode while sending a text message and deleted it while it said it was "sending" did the message actually get deleted? Or would the recipient still receive it? Thank you.

I've been in a similar situation before and pretty sure it deleted the message without ever sending.
