Music won't play while trying to use voice command through Chevy Mylink.

I'm having a heck of a time getting my music to play consistently through my Chevy Mylink in my 2017 Malibu Premier. I was using the Galaxy S7 Edge and just picked up the S9+.

Basically what happens is when I hold down the button and use voice command Play Music it will sometimes work without issues. Or it will just sit there and do nothing.
Also I was wondering what I should be using. Either Google Play Music or Samsung music. And which assistant Bixby or Google assistant.Or is there a better app to use.
All my music is on my SD card as I don't want to spend money on a subscription, or stream and I have well over 4000 songs. So I'm good in the variety department lol.

I also recently had the software updated for the Mylink thinking it was an issue there, but I'm more suspecting it's with the phone, or apps themselves.
Any help would be excellent.
