Android Central Question

I have a BLU R1 Hd phone that runs Android Version 6. My Android security patch is dated May 5 2017. My phone will connect to WiFi at home and on campus, but will seem to lose connection intermittently: the wifi signal will show that it is connected but trying to get a "return" signal I guess before showing that my phone is nolonger connected or that the network is offline. I will turn of and on the wifi connection, it will connect but have the same sort of problem. Once I reboot it generally fixes it for a time but it keeps happening. At home, it has begun giving me authentication errors when connecting even though the password I use has not changed and I have it saved for the phone. The tip I followed to over come this authentication errors was to turn off the wifi connection in sleep mode, reboot, then turn. It back on which has helped a little bit but it still has not fixed my previous problem of maintaining a connection on the phone.

I have no issue with WiFi connection on my laptop at home or on campus.

This problem started around December/January and it seems I'm not alone in this issue cropping up around this time.

What can I do to fix the problem?
