Can't read a qr that is on the screen

Every time my phone tries to connect to a wifi hotspot a qr code pops up on the screen and I can't read it. This is not a problem with any other android device on the same network. Can I switch something on the phone , so it does not show a qr? Thanks

The phone normally reads a printed QR code using the camera. Or another phone can read the QR code on your phone's screen using its camera. But a phone can't take a picture of its own screen.
