transfer music from pc to 2xl

I have music stored on the hardrive of my PC and want to transfer that music to my 2xl. How can I do that without subscibing to google play or some other music service. Is it possible to drag and drop from the File explorer on the PC to the device labled Pixel 2lx

Yes, exactly that.

Connect the phone to the computer using the USB cable.
Unlock the phone's security screen.
Set the phone's USB connection type to MTP.
Using Windows Explorer, copy the MP3 files to the phone's "/Music" folder.
