I've got a samsung Galaxy SIII and the keyboard will not open. The phone has a password set and as a result I can no longer access the phone. The phone has some old photos of mine that I really would love to be able to access again in its internal memory. I've tried rebooting in safe mode, no dice. Tried booting in recovery mode and clearing the cache, and nothing. If anyone has any advice to offer I'll be very grateful.

Welcome to Android Central! Try connecting a basic USB keyboard via an OTG adapter (very cheap to buy). If you can get into the phone that way, then try installing a different keyboard and set it as default to see if it works better.
