I've recently run into a problem after I downloaded a screen-recording app (a very trustworthy and popular one, free of virsus) and I noticed the YouTube player disn't work. The audio was fine but the videos won't play. Same problem with instagram, the photos are fine, but the videos are stuck. Even my gallery videos won't work, an error saying "Sorry, unable to play video" appears on a black screen. Though all my apps are updated, I've even tried resetting my app prefrences.

I hope there's a way to fix this without replacing my phone or downloading alternative apps. Thank you for any responses.

Welcome to Android Central! Which app was it? Does the problem go away after uninstalling that app? Just because an app is trustworthy, popular, and virus-free doesn't mean it can't cause glitches with other apps. If the problem goes away after uninstalling, then send feedback to the app developer.
