My HTC Desire 626's screen wont turn on but vibrates randomly

[Android Central Question]

One second my phone was working just fine, then I pressed the power button just to turn my screen off. When I tried to go on my phone again the screen wouldn't turn on and randomly there seems to be a series of vibrations. Ive tried holding the power button, holding the power and volume down, and ive tried the power and both volume buttons and my screen wont do anything.

It could be some kind of hardware failure. So far as you know, is the battery good?

It sure sounds like water damage. A cold phone brought into warm humid air could cause that - or a hot phone brought into a cold room (or outdoors).
