Why isn't my pictures showing up in my gallery but they are in my files

I can't look at my photos that i take or any that i save from faceboook or any other app

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Is your Camera app set to save photos to Internal Storage or the SD card?

Use a file manager app and look in the directories where your image files are saved. Do you see a file called ".nomedia" anywhere? If you do, delete it. ".nomedia" instructs the system to ignore that directory when scanning for images to add to the gallery database.
