Camera, yes. The Pixel 2 is the camera everyone compares to. The extended dynamic range can't be beat (no washed out highlights, details in shadows).

As for the rest of the phone, that's up to you. I had a G6 but went with the Pixel 2 for a couple of reasons (faster updates, easier to root).

In terms of camera, yes. Overall image quality is better on the Pixel on the rear and the front facing cameras.

I've owned the G6 for a year, and 2 times I almost went to a Pixel 2. The camera is great and so are the latest updates. The squeeze for assistant feature is nice, and the overall software experience is much more fluid on the Pixel.

The problem is that I spent so much time with my G6, I don't want to give up 1. wireless charging, 2. wide angle camera, 3. headphone jack

I purchased the g6 for $350 while the Pixel is still selling for $649. At this point, I'm holding out for news on the Pixel 3. If I decide that its not for me, I'll go for the P2 and grab some extra dongles and chargers.
