Google Play and Samsung Music skip songs after resuming play

If I play a song on either app and pause it, it works fine, but if the song ends and goes to the next one, the scrubbing bar moves to the end. If I press pause, and then resume play a few seconds later, because the scrubbing bar is at the end of the song, it'll skip the rest of the track and go on to the next one. In both Google Play Music and the default Samsung Music Player too. It does not occur on apps like Spotify or Pandora. Also, the device is a 16GB Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0in, and the problem didn't start occuring until after the Android 7.0 update. Because it occurs on both apps, I feel that the problem is in the OS.
