0 bytes used space, free space=total size

[Android Central Question]

Hi guys, I seem to have a sort of an odd problem. My sd card shows 0 bytes USED space, while free space equals its total size. And it appears to be usable however files eventually disappear from it. Any suggestions to make it functional again? Putting files on it feels like throwing them in a black hole.
Btw, it happened on multiple cards so i guess i'm doing something wrong with them. even if i must throw them away, please tell me if you know how am i destroying them. thanks

Welcome to Android Central! Does this only happen on one device, or on multiple devices? Are all of the cards the same brand, or from the same seller? Counterfeit cards are common, so try installing SD Insight to see if the card is what it says it is.
